What is Google Adwords?
AdWords also known as Google AdWords is an advertising service by Google for businesses wanting to display ads on Googles Search Engine and its advertising network.
The AdWords system allows businesses to set a budget for advertising online and have control over their spend. E.g. You may notice that ads for your Mechanics Business deliver better results on Mondays and Fridays so you can set a larger budget for those days with a more modest budget for the rest of the week.
There are two main types of Adwards Campaigns. The first being CPI (Cost per impression) and the second being CPC (Cost per click).
Cost Per Impression (CPI)
This is more of a “ShotGun” type approach to Adwords, you pay much less for each ad but you pay everytime it shows on a search. The plus side of this is that if you are Coke or Nike or Apple you can keep your brand in front of large numbers of people relevantly easily. The downside is you really have no feedback on how the adverts are trending or if people are clicking through or not. But for these type of business that’s less important that just making sure people see “Buy Coke” pop up every now and then.
Cost Per Click (CPC)
This is more suited to your average (or even large) business who likes to track how well their add is performing and only paying for “Leads” which in this case is someone clicking the ad and being redirected to your website or Facebook page. It actually could be redirected to almost anywhere you want. ing the ad and being redirected to your website or facebook page. It actually could be redi
The CPC ad service is largely focused on keywords and tracking views and click rates. Think of it like an auction, whoever pays the most get to the top of the list.
The average Cost Per Click in Googles Search Engine is between $1 ~ $2 and this will usually deliver some good results as long as your ad itself is good and the overall budget id suitable.
The average CPC on the Display Network is under $1. The Display Network is Adwords that don’t pop up on Googles Search but in websites linked to the Display Network. E.g You are on TradeMe looking at cell phones and on the next screen you visit there is an add down the right-hand side (or wherever the designer of the site wants the ad to go) advertising the New Apple iPhone 12.
